Are you looking to enjoy yourself on a Sydney Harbour Cruise? If you look around for information, you’ll find that you can go on one such cruise for all of two hours! Apart from the feeling of luxury that the catamaran will give you, you can enjoy fine dining here, and you could tuck into a seafood lunch buffet too! This buffet combines fresh local fish with hot and cold fish dishes, salads, cheeses, a large spread of fruit and desserts.

And while you sunbathe on the deck, sip a cool drink from the bar inside and watch the familiar sights of Sydney Harbour including the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Opera House and Fort Denison. And as you come to dinner time, eat a fabulous meal in the air-conditioned restaurant.

You could also choose to go cruising on a Sydney Harbour Cruise at sunset, one that takes you out on sea for an hour and a half. It begins at sunset and takes you past all the important sights of Sydney while you cruise into the dark. And while you are sailing, enjoy your chilled champagne, canapés and a two-course dinner that includes wine.

Can you ask for more? Of course, you can. You can choose to go on a short café cruise which takes you to the upper regions of the Middle Harbour and/or Sydney Harbour. Only if you do go on these cruises will you enjoy the most breathtaking sights of this majestic city. This cruise lasts for about 2½ hours and docks in the upper parts of Middle Harbour where you will find large waterfront homes, beaches, parks and marinas. You can also have a delightful and refreshing cup of afternoon tea while sailing.

No matter which Sydney Harbour Cruise you choose, you’re sure to enjoy yourself, after all Sydney is surrounded by several exciting and challenging activities-whether you are young, single, couples, families or senior citizens.

If you love adventure sports, you can get enough of it here too: you can try hot air ballooning or if that doesn’t grab you, why not see your first dolphin or whale ever? Perhaps you’re taking this cruise just to chill or get away from a busy city life. In that case, take your Sydney Harbour Cruise slowly: sip wine all you like, soak in the sun and eat like a king. And yes, don’t forget tot explore the ship.

If you want to be pampered, you could have a facial, manicure or pedicure too. Or why not go to the spa for a while? But if you are romantic and with your partner or spouse, what could be better than a fine dining experience here? A romantic dinner for you with your favorite wine or champagne would be ideal.

On a Sydney Harbour Cruise, you will find many, many things to do, see and enjoy. Do what you like, enjoy all you can and soak in the atmosphere in the best way you can. After all, you’re on holiday. Enjoy!

As the name suggests, a party cruise is a party on a boat or ship. What an innovative way to party, right? Everyone loves cruising as much as they love partying, so it makes sense to combine both of them and have a good time. Besides, it’s a change from the ordinary, so why not?

” Types of party cruises: These parties can be of several kinds. Perhaps you want to party with friends and have a whale of a time, or you want an outing with your family, or are celebrating a milestone birthday or anniversary, or even an engagement. Well, then, a party cruise becomes an event to remember. These parties can go on from a few hours in the evening to a whole day. You can hire a boat and tailor it to your needs or just take a party cruise that’s readily available.

Among theme party cruises, there are pirate parties, casino party cruises and costume party cruises, apart from nightclub cruises. Others include the following:

” Music parties: You can have a hip hop cruise, a country Western cruise or any other distinct music party cruise, and can fit the food to it. For instance, if you have a country Western cruise, perhaps you might like to serve salsa and barbeque and salsa.

” Murder mysteries parties: Here, a guest or crew member is “murdered” on the boat and other guests play detectives and must find the killer.

” Ghost cruise parties: Here, the ship is haunted and guests spend time solving the mystery of the ghost and haunted ship.

” New Years Eve parties: These are three-hour parties and are held on New Year’s Eve in those spots where the ship can give views of spectacular fireworks or other celebrations.

” Contest cruise parties: The host organizes contests such as dancing, karaoke or something like American Idol which guests can take part in. Winners are given prizes.

” Chartered cruise parties: Sometimes, pleasure boat companies offer their boats to business houses or individuals who want to celebrate important events on board a ship.

” Where you can find party cruises: Browse cruise companies and arrange your time on the cruise with them. You can also approach big hotels or bars that have access to a river, beach or marina, or charter companies that give out their ships on tours. If the city you’re in is on a beach, it’s sure to offer these cruises.

” Costs: This would depend on the theme of the cruise party, the number of guests and the kind of ship you book. Fares start at $20 and can go up to $100 per head. You need to book well in advance.

The party cruises are generally accompanied with a lot of singing, dancing and fireworks. Provisions are made in advance, and the volumes are raised while the ship sails away on the sparkly waters of the Harbor, Ocean or river.

” What to wear: This depends on the kind of cruise you’re taking. If your cruise party starts in the afternoon, you might like to wear casual wear, but if it begins in the evening, you will be expected to dress as if you were going to a nightclub.

Mary Hanna asked:

An air-sea cruise is when your cruise vacation has been booked with airline reservations to get you to the ship’s port and back home again. The cruise line buys its tickets in bulk from the airlines. They find out where you are coming from for your cruise travel and book you passage from a nearby airport to one close to the cruise ship’s home port. Each cruise line has its own policy on how they deal with the sale of airline tickets, so here are some cruise tips in that area.

What is the cost of the tickets if I book them with my cruise?

The amount will be quoted when you book and will be shown on your bill.

If I need to cancel, are the refund policies different for the plane tickets than for the cruise?

No, as long as you cancel before the penalty phase begins.

Is there a service fee charged to have the Cruise Line issue my Airline reservations?

Only if you use their air deviations plan. The fee is around $50.00 each.

Do I have any choice in which Airline is used?

Yes, if you use there air deviation plan.

Can I get credit for my frequent flyer mileage if the cruise lines books my airline reservations?

No. You can use your frequent flyers if you book on your own.

Can I fly nonstop or have any control over the route that is taken, or do I just get what ever they find?

Here again, use the air deviation plan.

How do I get from the Airport to the ship’s pier?

If you have booked an air/sea cruise vacation the cruise lines will supply you with a voucher for a shuttle bus. If you booked your own airline reservations it will be up to you to get to the port.

Is there a shuttle service available from the airport where you’ll be arriving? Is there a charge for this service or is it included? Is the service included if you don’t book your flight through the Cruise Line?

If you book your flights through the cruise lines, there will be a shuttle and you

use your transfer.

How and when do I meet up with Cruise Line personnel?

They will be standing in the baggage claim area and will hold a sign with the name of the ship. They will direct you to the shuttle.

How is my luggage handled, do I have to pick it up at the airport or is it automatically sent to the ship?

You will have to pick it up at the airport and then the shuttle will take it to the ship with you.

What accommodations, if any, are made if the Airline they use causes me to miss the ship?

If you have booked with the cruise lines they will accommodate you by getting a hotel room for the night and a flight to the next port.

There are many advantages to booking an air-sea package for your cruise travel. The cruise line takes care of the airline reservation. Since cruise lines buy in bulk and usually provide a discount package rate, the ticket price is generally lower than what can be found in the general market. The transfer of luggage is easier, and a free shuttle will take you from the airport to the docks for your cruise vacation.

The cruise line will have your flight information and will be able to track your flight in case of a delay. Others on the cruise might be on the same flight and they might just hold the ship waiting for you to board. The biggest advantage is that if anything goes wrong to delay you, the cruise line will generally become more involved in getting you to the ship.

There, of course, are disadvantages as well to booking an air-sea package. You might be able to find a better deal on your own, or you may have to fly an airline you don’t like. You will not get credit for frequent flyer miles by going through the cruise line, and you might not be able to fly non-stop. Finally, you might end up flying a longer route than you’d pick for yourself.

You could book your own airline tickets, but only do so if you can get a better deal. The strongest consideration should be how confident you are in being able to make it to the ship for your cruise vacation on your own. If you are already flying in a few days early, know you’ll be there on time and you can save over the air-sea on plane tickets and shuttle costs, then you might just consider going it alone. But, remember you are going it alone. In many cruise reviews it is recommended that you book your airline reservation with the cruise line.

The cruise lines will be more likely to make accommodations and work with the airline if their booking didn’t get you to the ship on time. They will be better able to track your late flight and might even delay the ship if they know you’ll only be slightly late. There have been many cruise vacations that have delayed the departure from port especially if there is a large group of cruise travelers on a late plane.

Depending on the circumstances, they might even rebate some of your cruise or give you a discount toward your next cruise vacation with them. However, the airlines are independent contractors. Most cruise conditions of carriage state that since the airlines are independent contractors the cruise line makes no warranty and assumes no responsibility for any failure or delay in their contractor’s services. This is another reason to purchase a strong trip insurance package.

When you book your own airline tickets for your cruise vacation, if the route you picked to make it to the ship fails, you are on your own. Don’t risk missing your cruise travel over a few frequent flyer miles. No matter how you get to your cruise vacation, try to avoid this situation by booking a flight that leaves you plenty of time to get you to and from the pier to the airport. It is recommended that your go on the internet and read the many cruise reviews on this subject.

Happy Cruising!

When planning a trip why not consider a Cruise vacation. Having sailed on Celebrity Cruise Lines after reading many cruise reviews, I can highly recommend Celebrity Cruises for a great cruise vacation.

Scuba diving? Exotic cuisines? Going to a spa? Different activities for a vacation you can choose from, but why not do all of them on a Celebrity Cruise vacation.

A Celebrity Cruise is a cost and time efficient vacation. You won’t have to go to different destinations to enjoy the above activities. On a Celebrity Cruise vacation all the amenities you want, fitness center, restaurants, swimming pools, casino and gourmet food can be found on a Celebrity cruise vacation.

You do not have to worry about your luggage. You drop if off at the pier and it will be delivered to your stateroom. Unpack once and you’re done for the duration of your cruise vacation. After you have unpacked go to lunch, one of the best cruising activities is the parade of delicious dishes in Celebrity Cruise dining rooms.

Each Celebrity Cruise vacation has its own restaurant administered by the finest chefs in the world. Best of all, every meal and snack are included in your Celebrity Cruise package.

In every port tourist guides are readily available to assist you. Take a tour on a Celebrity cruise lines guided excursion. You do not have to worry about your children; there are several activities, which will keep them preoccupied while you are enjoying your own activity.

Taking a Celebrity cruise vacation enables you to enjoy every minute of your vacation and frees you from worrying about where to eat, what to do and how much it will cost.

All cruise lines offers these services to their passengers, however Celebrity Cruise Lines does it just a little bit better. Celebrity Cruise Line is one of the best cruise lines available in today’s market. They offer competitive packages and are just one step above other cruise lines. They have onboard upscale boutiques and entertainment ala Las Vegas, which was created and designed exclusively for Celebrity Cruise Lines by Cirque du Soleil.

You can try your luck at the Casino or even purchase some fine art at the onboard auction. Late in the evening check out The Bar at the Edge of the Earth, an exotic lounge provided exclusively by Celebrity Cruise Lines.

If you feel the need to relax, visit the famous Aqua-Spa by Elemis. There, you will experience a deluxe manicure, facial treatments, and a relaxing massage. Celebrity Cruise Lines also has onboard acupuncture center if you want to feel renewed and invigorated. You can book spa packages before you go on your cruise vacation over the internet

Your kids will also enjoy their cruise vacation on a Celebrity Cruise vacation. Celebrity offers the X-Club Youth Program exclusively for your kids. It has activities and entertainment for specific age groups.

A professional staff administers all of these activities, which include science and nature exploration, treasure hunts, talents shows, dinner parties, and more. Celebrity Cruises have reserved areas on the ship for younger seafaring passengers such as the Shipmates Fun Factory, teen center, and pools. This allows your kids enjoy their own activities while you are off enjoying yours.

Celebrity Cruise Lines has designed its ships to accommodate mobility-impaired passengers. There are staff members that are always ready to attend to any of their special needs. Celebrity has an onboard clinic staffed by a licensed doctor and nurse who can speak foreign languages

Food on a cruise vacation is available 24/7 in cafeterias and dining areas. You can also request room service if you want to have a romantic dinner with your spouse. We did this while we did a European cruise and the dinner came with a white linen table cloth, china, silver and crystal glasses. It was really beautiful and I have never experienced that on other cruise lines. There are formal dinners in the famous Celebrity Cruise Lines dining rooms two or three times during the cruise vacation, depending on the length of your cruise travel. If you do not wish to participate in this cruise activity there are casual restaurants that you can visit instead.

Celebrity Cruise Lines has a variety of itineraries from which to choose. Some of them our very exotic like the Galapagos or Australia. No matter which itinerary you choose you will always feel pampered on a Celebrity Cruise vacation. Celebrity Cruise Lines staff always go the extra mile to please you. Read some other cruise reviews and see if they don’t agree with me.

Enjoy cruising with Celebrity Cruise Lines!

If you’ve already discussed the venue of your upcoming wedding with your fiancé, then there’s nothing left to say. But if you could still change things, why not consider having a wedding on a cruise ship-you know, a Wedding Party Cruise. Not only will your fiancé love having a Wedding Party Cruise, but for both of you, it will be the most romantic day of your lives.

If you arrange it well in advance, you can have everything done professionally. Usually, the ship’s captain conducts the wedding ceremony with complete legal authority. Alternatively, you can bring your own priest.

After the ceremony, you can have a very private reception, of the size you want. Choose from the many banquet halls, suites and party lounges to host your reception. Or you can host in an open environment with beautiful views of the sea.

For you, the wedding couple, a Wedding Party Cruise is not only romantic but also very economical. Plus, it has other advantages. And with the many discount packages available for newlyweds, you could be in for a big saving!

The ship’s crew does everything it can to make yours a very special day. For instance, you can have an upgrade on your suite for free, a bucket of free champagne and flowers in the cabin, apart from an offering of chocolates. Besides, you could also be invited to dine with the captain, if you like. It’s pampering time for you both, and well the captain and his crew know this.

Before your cruise can begin, look into the finer details of your Wedding Party Harbour , if only to avoid any future hassles. If there is a special brand of champagne or a certain wine you prefer, then inform them in advance, so that they can make sure it is on board. You can also make a date with the beauty salon on board the ship, order your wedding cake, flowers and wedding dinner, right here.

Benefits of a Wedding Party Cruise: Really, you should consider having a Wedding Party Cruise as both you and your guests will have a really good time, apart from which a wedding on a cruise liner is hassle-free. Since all your guests will be aboard with you, you needn’t worry if someone is going to miss it just because he’s caught in a traffic snarl. Of course, this means you won’t get to reach the venue in a limo, but you could reach the cruise ship in one, if you’re particular about it.

And, planning your wedding won’t be as stressful as other brides find it. This is because you will find all the wedding services you require under one roof. If you want a caterer, florist, photographer or anyone else, don’t worry-he’s already trained and ready on board your Wedding Party Cruise liner. This will save a lot of time and bother for you both and you can enjoy your wedding, not worry if everything’s going fine.

If you want a holiday that’s fun and cheap, hop on to the Sydney Harbor and get ready for a cruise. With just a bit of planning, you can even take in the historical sights, the cultural tradition, the grand and elegant buildings, and the loads of food choices from all over the world.

The best time to take a cruise from here is in November, which is late spring here. You must remember to take along sweaters, a camera, batteries and memory cards and a hat. The cruise begins at Circular Quay, and it makes sense to arrive here a little earlier than 9 a. m. when it sets sail. Take advantage of a hop-on-hop off cruise ticket and go visit the Taronga Zoo which is mesmerizing with its emus, kangaroos, koalas, birds, wallabies and beautiful flora and fauna. Then, go shopping and then on to Darling Harbour, visit an aquarium and one of the fantastic museums nearby before returning to Circular Quay.

Apart from this, you can also choose from the innumerable ferries that begin at Sydney Harbour and take in the golden beaches, the warm sun, waterside homes, the sound of the water and blooming jacarandas. If you do get on to a ferry, you will experience a form of life of the people of this harbor city. A ferry is a mode of transport here. They set sail at Circular Quay, which is fully equipped with ferry wharves, jetties, a railway station and bus terminals, apart from coffee shops and tourist shops.

Choose to go anywhere from here-Taronga Zoo, Mosman, Neutral Bay, or Manly, if you want to go north. If going southeast is your wish, go to Watsons Bay and Darling Point, or sail westwards to Homebush Bay or Parramatta, Balmain or Gladesville and Parramatta and then cruise around a little before you return to Darling Harbour.

On your cruise, you need to keep an eye out for the Sydney Opera House in the east and the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Rocks district in the west, all very near the Circular Quay jetties. Go all across the waters to the fun and entertainment center-Luna Park, and then on to the Star City casino and entertainment center at Pyrmont Bay and Darling Harbour-something you’re going to love.

You’d be extra fortunate to board a cruiser around New Year’s Eve because of the fantastic fireworks display which begins at midnight for the New year’s Eve Sydney Harbour. This usually begins at 9 p.m. and is followed by the Harbour Light parade.

If you’re a beach bum, Sydney has many fantastic, clean and inviting beaches with a lot of water sports and activities to offer you. Do visit Manly beach, among others. Or if you like you could take a leisurely cruise around the harbor and admire its wonderful and quaint waterside homes and dock at an isolated spot for an exclusive lunch.

Don’t go packed with food and drink. Instead, go under the Harbour Bridge and land up at the Sydney Fish Markets. Get onto the wharf and choose from any of the seafood specialty restaurants and order take-away seafood the way you want it, hot or cold. Then, bite into their amazing selection of fresh water fish delicacies. In fact, here you will find food, food and food what with a fruit and vegetable market and a deli.

Go on the water and take a Sydney Harbour cruise. It’s going to be great fun.

Caribbean cruises are the most popular of all cruise destinations. And there are good reasons that they are the cruise destination of choice. Caribbean cruises offer you intriguing ports of call, beautiful white sandy beaches with azure blue water, all while enjoying the supreme service aboard your magnificent cruise ship. Caribbean cruises offer many activities for all age groups, so it makes a great family cruise vacation. And don’t worry about cruise terms, we’ve included it here.

During family cruise vacations there are activities all day long and they’re free. You have already paid for it in the price of Caribbean cruise. You get all your meals, your cabin, and entertainment included in the price of you family cruise vacation. This is one of the many reasons Caribbean cruises are such a great value.

The best aspect of Caribbean cruises is that once you board your ship you unpack once for the entire trip. No schlepping bags from airport to hotel over and over again. You will be in a new island almost every day with the travel between each port done at night, while you sleep. What could be easier?

Most of the top cruise lines offer Caribbean cruises. Royal Caribbean, Princess, Celebrity, Holland America and Carnival all offer a great variety of Caribbean cruise vacations. There are very formal Caribbean cruises or the fun and casual party cruise. Caribbean cruises are good if you are looking for adventure, golf or scuba cruises. Or maybe you would like to go on a relaxing cruise to enjoy the sea on a sailing cruise. You could plan a Caribbean cruise as a second honeymoon, even the first honeymoon, or a family reunion, or a special anniversary. You don’t even need an excuse to take a Caribbean cruise, do it just for fun. Or do it because there is five feet of snow and you need to see the sun and the sand.

Be sure to inquire about any discounted cruises for special groups, like teachers, police or fireman, or nurses. Many times a cruise line sees a certain cruise at a certain time of the year is filling up slowly so they offer special discounts to these groups. And if you belong to one of these groups band together, says as teachers from Pennsylvania and get additional discounts.

Now that you have decided to take a Caribbean cruise here is a glossary of terms used on Cruise ships. It’s the cruise terms or cruise lingo.

Aft is the rear or near the rear of the ship Amidships is the middle of the ship Bow is the very front of the ship Bridge is the navigational control center Colors are the national flag flown by the ship Deck Plan is an overhead diagram of the cabins and the public rooms Dock is where your ship will “park” when in port Forward faces the front of the boat Gangway allows you access on and off the ship Knot is a nautical mile Leeward means out of the wind Pitch is how much the ship will roll (not very much, if at all) PAX is cruise terms for passengers Book a cruise is to make a cruise reservation A Cruiser is you, the passenger Port is the left hand side of the ship while facing forward (bow). Easy to remember since port and left have four letters Stack (sometimes called smoke stack) is the ships “chimney” Starboard is the right side of the ship while facing forward (bow). . Stateroom or berth is your cabin Steward’s are personnel on the ship for your cabin and dining room Stern is the very back of the ship Daily Activity Log lists the various activities on board Now that you can know your Cruise terms, all you have to do is call your cruise travel agent and book one of the many Caribbean cruises that are offered. Book as a family cruise vacation, your honeymoon or anniversary or just because you want to experience Caribbean cruises.

Happy Cruising!

Helen Hecker asked:

If you’re planning to take a cruise you want to make sure you get the best cruise deal bargain offered. And there are many ways to save a bunch of money on your next cruise if you know what to do. It isn’t hard to learn the secrets travel agents know when you’re looking for the best cruise deal. You can save as much as 65% scouting on your own or from 15-30% from the cruise line brokers and the cruise consolidators as they’re called.

There are many sites that offer clearance specials and last minute cruise deals. Then there are the possibly cheaper but much riskier last minute cruise auctions and classifieds which I won’t go into here. The last minute cruise deals are not hard to find because the cruise lines don’t want to have any empty cabins when they leave port and they make every effort to fill them.

Note that the offers you find on the cruise line sites are NOT going to be as good as those you find elsewhere or from cruise line brokers or the consolidators. So make sure you go to the other sites. Of course you can compare the prices you find with the cruise line’s site.

First of all to get the best cruise deal online you want to look for cruise sites that use the Revelex or OVS cruise reservation systems. This way you can easily compare prices on staterooms for many of the cruise ships at one time. Some of these sites have time limits on their offers so be ready but don’t buy on impulse either. Last minute deals can save you a bundle.

Once you find what you think is a bargain or a good deal you can contact your local cruise travel agent and see if they can meet it or beat it. Some of the cruise lines forbid travel agents to discount their cruises but it doesn’t mean the agents don’t know about already-discounted cruises.

Once you’ve found some good travel websites, sign up for their email alerts so you’ll get fast notice on last minute cruise deals, package deals or clearance cruise deals or any other special offers that might be floating around out there. Sign up at several sites because you want the ones that are going to email you soon and often with the alerts and some of them may be too slow.

You can ask for a discount even on the final price for any cruise. Ask if they have a senior discount, business discount, student discount, health professional discount or AARP discount or AAA for example. There are also resident discounts or special offers if you live in a particular state.

Make sure to visit several sites and compare, don’t just settle on the first one No matter what low rate you find keep searching for a lower rate. The sites that compare several cruise lines at once will often bring up comparisons that make it easy for you to find the best rate.

You want to compare the cruise lines, cruise ships and the itineraries besides the price. You’re looking for a bargain - the cheapest cruise rates. Make sure to read the fine print on any site so there are no surprises later. It’s absolutely necessary.

Remember that some offers may be for the second-rate cabins. This means the cabins that are near noisy service doors or elevators or under the ballroom floor or near children’s activity areas. You don’t want to find out later that the reason your cabin was cheap was due to the location on the ship. Be aware that the last minute cruise deals or clearance cruise specials may be non-refundable. Read the contract closely.

It doesn’t matter if you’re looking for a Carnival cruise deal, Disney cruise deal. Royal Caribbean cruise deal, Crystal cruise deal or any other cruise line, or if you and a partner and/or your family plan to go to Mexico, the Caribbean, Alaska, Hawaii or the Bahamas or cruise with celebrities; if you spend a little extra time learning the ropes you’ll not only save yourself a lot of money but you’ll get the best cruise deal online.

Daniel Millions asked:

Going on cruises as a travel option will be more enjoyable when you design your cruise travel according to your budget, time and desired destination. Not only that, a cruise trip can reflect your lifestyle accurately so that you will be a truly happy cruiser.

Cruises are much like other travel alternatives because that with good planning, you can create great memories for when you come home from your vacation. The difference between cruise travel and other forms of travel is that cruise travel offers a huge variety of themes for cruise vacations. You can choose a destination or specialty cruise that reflects your life.

If you have children, you will want the family friendly cruise package. There are singles cruises, weight loss cruises and other health themed cruises. You can choose cruises that explore natural areas or you can choose celebrity cruises. These are just some examples of the many cruise themes that are available. The point is that there are so many specialty cruises that you will be able to match the cruise to your personal style. With the right theme, the destination may not be as important in comparison to the theme.

You can find different pricing options for cruise vacations. There are many fun trips for under $500. You can find different packages for a range of prices that go up to $3000 and over. Luxury cruises are in their own class of pricing and well worth the money for those who can afford the extra expense. Cruise travelers can be very loyal to cruise as a travel favorite. Some cruise travel fans will take any suitable available cruise trip as long as it fits their budget if it can be taken right away. That is how enchanted with cruise travel, that these travelers can be.

Customer service and special features will make or break your cruise vacation. When you are choosing a cruise vacation, consider the services that you will get from the cruise line. Find out about a company’s reputation before you choose that company. Compare the different cruise lines to decide which company suits your budget and needs.

Another important consideration is the length of the cruise vacation. For short getaways, travelers can take a cruise trip for one day or less. You can also book a cruise for much longer vacations. Trips are categorized though not restricted to groups of up to one week and under, two weeks, three weeks and longer.

You will also have to consider the location of your departure port. You will need to find a port that is closest to your location. A great deal of coordination may be done to match the departure location and your desired cruise destination. It is best to make reservations well in advance.

You should consider making your reservation for cruises a year ahead for popular cruises. Some popular cruises are booked solid for more than a year in advance. You will not be disappointed if you plan for your cruises and have realistic expectations on your departure date for some cruises.

By weighing all the factors carefully that are a part of planning for cruise travel, you will be able to find the cruise vacation that will be worth your time and money. When you find that specialty cruise vacation that matches your personality and lifestyle, when you get back home, you will not be able to wait until your next cruise vacation.

Mandy Karlik asked:

Shopping for a Mother’s Day present is never easy, but it is particularly difficult for people who want to give their mothers or other special ladies in their life something very special. Cruises are a great way to give your mom Mother’s Day memories she’ll cherish forever. What’s more, they’re surprisingly affordable.

A cruise is best considered as an all-in-one vacation package. If you want to comparison shop, your cruise fare equals hotel accommodations, meals, transportation, and entertainment. It does not include alcohol, special amenities (like spa services or casino gambling), or shore excursions, which are optional.

One other factor that influences the total price: you have to get to port city on your own dime, too.

Giving your mother a cruise vacation is a great idea because it is not only an inclusive vacation that most people really enjoy (most people who cruise once become fans and cruise again), it is also a very easy way for you to set up a family get-together or reunion. These group cruises are increasingly popular and most cruise lines encourage them.

In fact, calling a cruise line representative is a good step to see what a particular cruise might be able to offer you for a group package.

There are four ways to give your mom the present of a cruise vacation.

The first method is to let your mother pick out the cruise vacation she wants and then let you come back and buy it for her. This is a bit complicated logistically since there are many cruise lines with many more offerings, and there is no “gift card” option that will let her shop around. About the best gift card you can get is one through a credit card which all major cruise lines accept. The problem with that is that cruise packages can vary a lot in price. Another way to give her this kind of gift is to offer to pay for the cruise she picks out–but your mom might spend more or less than you’d like!

The second choice is that you can be bold and pick a cruise for your mom, pay for it, and give it to her.

Cruises have the “Noah’s Ark Syndrome,” which mean they want everyone to get in the boat by pairs. Cruise fares are always stated for double occupancy (although you can make arrangements to sleep three or four to a state room, too). Besides, cruising alone is no fun. So book your parents a cruise or, if your mom is alone, get her a cruise with a family member or friend.

The third method of getting a cruise for Mother’s Day is a fabulous idea. You pick the cruise and buy it, only you go along with her. Depending on your family structure, it may be just you and your mom or it might be several couples (parents, you and your spouse, maybe a sibling and spouse and so on). These are fabulous adventures and a gift that everyone will always remember. Cruising in a group heightens the enjoyment. Your family can dine together, explore the ports together, take in shows or stroll the ship together, all while somebody else cooks, cleans up, and drives!

The fourth way to get your mom a cruise vacation for Mother’s Day involves creating a family reunion group. In this scenario, you pick the cruise and pay for your mom and her traveling mate. You also arrange to travel with them. After that, you just need to tell the family about the plan to see who can join you. Invite relatives, even friends.

Family cruises of many couples are not uncommon on cruises today, and many cruise lines will work with you to help make the organizational chores of setting up this sort of thing as easy as possible.

If you opt for a large family reunion cruise, book it as far in advance as you can. By booking early, cruise lines will often offer you the very best prices and it gives the other people in your family time to make the necessary work, family, and financial arrangements they need in order to participate.

Picking a cruise can be tough these days because there are so many options. Here are afew different ways to approach it.

Some people pick a cruise by destination: Alaska versus the Caribbean or cities of the Far East versus Europe. Others prefer to pick a cruise by port. If you live at or near a cruise port city, this can drastically reduce your total expense. Still others pick a cruise by type. Some cruises call at many ports, others spend more time at sea. Some emphasize fine dining, formal events, and luxurious spas, others emphasize kid-friendly activity and super-casual fun.

Price is a bit more complex in that there are numerous price levels on any given cruise. Price changes on the type of cabin you want (bigger costs more and windows or even balconies, sometimes called verandahs, cost more) and optional excursions can also drive up the price.

The best place to shop is online, in that every major cruise line runs a great, user-friendly website that allows you to window shop and even compare prices. You can even get a sneak peek at cabin floor plans and find out about activities, ports, and excursions.

Although most cruise lines are online, it is best to book by phone by calling the number provided on the website. In fact, some cruise websites do not allow online booking.

Talking to a cruise representative is a great way to familiarize yourself with the many voyages and options available to you. A family vacation can be one of the most memorable Mother’s Day gifts your mom will ever receive!
